Mr. Glenn earned his B.A. in political science from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania in 1967, after which he served on active duty as an officer in the United States Navy for four years. In 1974 he received his J.D. from Union University, Albany Law School, where he was a member of Albany Law Review, and in 1975 he was admitted to the bar to practice law in New York State. Since that time, he has served as part of the Trusts and Estates and Real Estate Law community of attorneys. His Martindale-Hubbell rating is AV Preeminent and he is an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) as recognized by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils. In addition, he served on the faculty of National Business Institute, Inc. programs “Administration of the Estate in New York” and “How to Draft Wills and Trusts in New York”.

Mr. Glenn primarily works with clients who need to create an estate plan for the first time, who need a review of existing estate planning documents, who wish to discuss the execution of a Will, establishment of a trust, execution of a Power of Attorney or execution of a Health Care Proxy, who are involved in the probate of a Will or the administration of an estate or trust, who are involved in the selling or buying of real estate, and/or clients who need to discuss an aspect of Elder Law.

An active volunteer, Mr. Glenn is currently a Member of the Board and Corporate Secretary of the New Paltz Community Foundation Inc; is a former Member of the Board, Corporate Secretary and a Member of the Huguenot Historical Society. Mr. Glenn served as a trustee of St. Lukes Hospital (now known as St. Lukes Cornwall Hospital) for ten years. He is an Emeritus member of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce (successor to Eastern Orange County Chamber of Commerce), having served on the Board of Directors for over 30 years in many capacities, including Chairman of the Board. He served for over 30 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Amos and Sarah Holden Home, an adult home in the City of Newburgh, and he served as a member of the City of Newburgh Zoning Board of Appeals for 14 years. He served as a Trustee of the Village of New Paltz, New York, from June 2011 through May 2013.

On May 7, 2009, he received the Orange County Bar Association’s Outstanding Service Award. Previously, he received the Man of the Year Service Award from The Salvation Army of Newburgh.

Ms. Breheney received her B.A. in English from St. Francis College, Loretto, Pennsylvania, and her J.D. from New York Law School in New York City. She has practiced Elder Law since 1997 when she was admitted to the New York State bar.

Ms. Breheney is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), a founding board member of the New York NAELA Chapter, and currently, serves as a director on that board. Ms. Breheney is also a member of the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Elder Law Section. In addition, she is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of State of New York (WBASNY), and active member of the Orange and Sullivan County Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association (WBAOSC), and past board officer.

Ms. Breheney is a long-standing member of the board of directors of the Association for Macular Diseases, an entirely volunteer nonprofit association that provides support to people who suffer from age-related and other forms of macular degeneration.

Mary Breheney is an avid reader and supporter of the arts. She serves as a director on the board of Newburgh Chamber Music Association.

Ms. Breheney works with clients whose Elder Law concerns include estate planning, advanced directives, long-term care planning and diminished capacity issues. She is experienced in the Probate and Estate Administration, Special Needs Trusts, and Medicaid Planning for long-term care. The firm routinely prepares and submits Medicaid applications for nursing home care. Ms. Breheney advises clients on Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, Wills, Trusts, and develops Estate Plans.

In addition, Ms. Breheney has extensive experience in Guardianship proceedings representing petitioners, cross-petitioners, guardians, and incapacitated persons, and is appointed by the Court as Court Evaluator and Counsel to the Alleged Incapacitated Person in Article 81 Guardianship proceedings.

She currently serves as Trustee, Guardian, and Guardian ad Litem in both Supreme Court and Surrogate’s Court matters.

Sarita Bhandarkar joined Glenn & Breheney, PLLC as a partner in August 2016. Sarita has practiced primarily in the area of wills, trusts and estates, and elder law since graduating from the College of William and Mary School of Law in 2002. An Orange County native, she worked first at a boutique trusts and estates firm in Manhattan before moving back to the Hudson Valley in 2008. She has been practicing in Orange and Dutchess Counties for the last eight years.

Prior to beginning her legal career, Sarita worked as a high school English teacher in upstate New York. In order to continue working with adolescents and their families as an attorney, Sarita completed her mediation training at the Dispute Resolution Center in Goshen. Through her experiences as a teacher and mediator, Sarita has learned to work with multiple generations to resolve conflicts and identify common goals and interests. Sarita frequently works with families who have complex estate planning issues invoking second marriages, blended families, mental health or substance abuse issues, and special needs.

Sarita returned to law school in 2010, enrolling in New York Law School's LL.M. Tax program, in order to deepen her understanding of sophisticated estate and gift tax planning. She completed her LL.M. studies in June 2012.

Sarita is admitted to practice in New York and is a member of the Tax, Trusts and Estates, and Elder Law sections of the New York State Bar Association as well as a member of the Women's Bar of Orange and Sullivan Counties.

Sarita serves on the boards of the Hudson Valley Estate Planning Council, Leadership Orange, and The Arc of Orange County.
